Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Loft is located on the 9th floor at 148 West 24th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.

    Subway: 1/F/M/C/E/R to 23 Street

Parking: There are multiple parking garages in the neighborhood. Parking on the street is free between 7pm and 8am, weekends are free. Outside of those hours, it’s commercial parking only.

  • We have a freight elevator available for loading in/out equipment, props and catering. The entrance to the freight elevator is located at 150 W 24th Street next to Barcade.

    Floor Dimensions: 66” x 58”
    Door opening: 48" and 47"

A 4x8 flat will JUST fit—so please consider that you might have to assemble bigger pieces upstairs.

  • ALL loading in/out must go through the freight elevator located at 150 W 24th Street next to Barcade—same building, different entrance. It is operated by the building super and is open M-F, 8am-noon and 1-5pm.

The building has a very stringent policy for loading in/out. Absolutely no loading in/out is allowed through the passenger elevators, this includes dollies, handtrucks, magliners, and carts, even if they are empty. Clients are not permitted to move multiple boxes/bags/etc. through the front elevator which would require the elevator doors to be held, ultimately causing an elevator malfunction.

If you will need to load anything in/out of the space beyond regular freight hours, you'll need to hire the super for that purpose. Overtime rates apply.

  • We have two separate internet lines, serviced by two different companies as a precautionary measure in the event of an outage.

The client line is called 24thStreetLoftClient and has no password.

  • We have two panels available.

The one in the main space is a dedicated 3-phase 100 amp box with a 3-phase 400 amp tie in. We also have two LEX 60 Amp Bento Box Feed Thru units that you can plug your lights and equipment into.

There is another massive panel in the back that only a licensed electrician can tie into—this is an old manufacturing building, we have more amps than anyone could ever need.

  • We have a Queens size mattress and box spring, plus the metal frame to lift them off the ground—no headboard.

The bed parts are available for free for you to use but you must assemble, disassemble, and put it away after your shoot. We also have basic white cotton sheets, pillows with inserts, and a duvet insert and cover.
